International Labor's Day

The International Labor Day is celebrated on 1st May. It is also known as May Day. This day is dedicated to the working class, who work hard by doing day and night work in different parts of the world and make valuable contributions to the progress of the country

Labor Day itself constitutes many privileges and welfare for the workers and is celebrated as a national holiday on most of the countries. Labor Day in India was first celebrated on 1st May 1923. Before 1923, working conditions were severe and workers were forced to work for 12 - 16 hours per day without extra salary. This celebration was held in the Indian state of Madras by the Labor Kisan Party of Hindustan. In India, Labor Day is known by the name Antarrashtriya Shramik Diwas or Kamgar Sin.  However, different states in the country call it by different names. In Tamil Nadu it is known as Uzhaipalar Dhuna, in Kerala, it is known as Thozhilaali Sivananda in Karnataka it is known as Karmikara Dinacharane. On this day, protests are carried out through various cities in the country. In many schools and offices, workers are felicitated with flowers, shawls, etc. Labor Day has given the right to all the workers to enjoy freedom. On this day, almost all big companies in the country are closed.

Not only in India, but around 80 countries in the world also have a national holiday on this day. The progress of any country depends on the farmers and workers of that country. Workers are an important part of our society. Workers have a large role in the construction of buildings, roads, bridges, etc. Laborers work hard the whole day for many hours and he/she take minimum wages in return. They live through their daily earning money.

In 2015 Google changed its logo on May 1st to celebrate International Labor's Day

As all of us agree that labor plays an important role in our lives in various forms like house help, in construction, cleaning roads, etc. I strongly oppose child labor, I often see children working at houses, selling goods on roads, etc which is absolutely against the law. Every child has the right to education and is educated, instead of doing these menial jobs at a tender age. At this tender age, they do not know what is right or wrong and quietly do what is told to them. Education is the one and only way which can brighten up their future and let them live a life void of poverty. Grieve punishments should be given to those who forcefully make children work. CHILD LABOR  HAS TO STOPPED ALL OVER THE WORLD.

In 1889, it was announced at the International Conference that in the memory of innocent people killed during the movement every year will be celebrated on May 1st as International Labor Day and on this day all workers will be on leave.  Nobody knows who actually started Labor Day. Some say Labor Day was started by Peter J.  McGuire others believe that it was Matthew Maguire. At the National Convention of the City of Chicago, the working time for the working class was fixed 8 hours per day. It was a historic decision. All the economic development in the entire world depends on the workers only.

Labor Day has historically been a day for parade, rallies and other celebrations of workers. On this day labor issues are dealt with on international levels. By 2030 the total workforce is predicted to increase to slightly more than 4 billion. Let's celebrate the Labor that builds up this great land from field to field and desk to desk. This built-in hand in hand.

Happy International Worker's Day
