It's shows the events of Hawkins Indiana and its gang during the summer as they have grown up to be teenagers now. The Hawking children have now grown up to become hormonal teenagers ragging with passion and lust for enjoying life, falling in love, having heartbreaks and relationship issues. On the other hand, the dreadful Upside Down world is gearing up for some gruesome challenges for the residents of the town with the Mind Flayer coming into a new form.

Stranger Things 3 Review:

The new season of Stranger Things is absolutely refreshing with new setting representing colourful vibes of the American 80's summer. The characters are given a fresh start as they are grown up into very young teenagers now which makes things more exciting. The Duffer Brothers have been pretty clever with their representation of seasonal ambience in the show.

The pop of colour gives a cute rom-com vibe while cultural references are brilliantly portrayed in the show. From Back to Future To Rambo, the story is full of intertextual references. In the first few episodes, the ambience is more light-hearted focusing more on the development of the romance between different characters in the show but as the show progresses, the portrayal of the monster Mind Flayer from the Upside Down world becomes more frequent and the dreadful horror is exercised.

Some of the scenes are literally gruesome extensively focusing on extremely ugly body horror with bodies tearing apart into a soup of blood and bones. One example of such a pathetic scene was the part in which Eleven was hunting on a monster out of her own leg, telekinetically.

One of the major highlights of the season is El and Max's relationship which is full of understanding after bouts of misunderstanding and differences created in the beginning. Some much-needed guidance is provided by Max which helps El a lot. Eleven performs brilliantly, as usual, creating some funny moments as her vocabulary extends with new cool words like "bitchin".

The cast again has expanded and new characters have been added which includes Robin, who is played excellently by Maya Hawke. Robin works at an ice cream parlour along with Steve who is freshly graduated but has not been able to pursue further studies or land a decent job. Their relationship of teasing and poking fun at each other along with Erica forms one of the cool groups which keeps adding fun moments into the story.

The season is full of humour and relationship drama along with some odd couples and a lot of touching, emotional moments which keeps on breaking the monotony of the theme, without making it look forced or out of place which certainly makes it brilliant storytelling. Overall it can be said that stranger things season 3 is a total summer hit and is surely something you must watch this summer!
