Prasthanam Teaser Review:
The Prasthanam teaser was released on the 29th of July to celebrate Sanjay Dutt’s 60th birthday. It is a remake of the 2010 Telugu movie of the same name. The teaser has an ominous background. It doesn’t reveal much yet leaves the viewer hungry for more information.
Raw emotion is shown in the midst of a political set up. Love, hatred, revenge is seething through the edges of the video.
There are violence and suspense embedded in the very root. It starts with the voice Sanjay Dutt being shown as a political power saying that “agar haq doge toh Ramayana shuru hogi, aur agar Chinnoge toh Mahabharatha” ( translation- if you give us what we deserve you will get Ramayana and if you snatch it away from us, we will start Mahabharatha”, leaving the viewer curious and creating a mysterious vibe.
The 1-minute video though not replete with much information creates a perfect setting for the advent of a great political drama. The pompousness usually associated with a political rise is depicted clearly, showing power, greed and ambition.
I feel the casting has been made perfectly- Sanjay Dutt in a semi villain, brooding role and Manisha Koirala as his devoted political wife. Along with Manisha Koirala and Sanjay dutt, Jackie Shroff and Amrya Dastur also have cameos in the trailer.
My favourite part about the trailer was the background music. It was very well suited to the aura of the teaser, in its simplicity and strength.
Let’s hope after his previous big film “Kalank” went flop, this movie turns out to be Sanjay Dutt’s comeback.
The Budget has been estimated to a total of 30 crores. (not many details have been revealed). This will include the costs incurred for filming and publicity.
No details on the songs have been released yet
