Vanilla Cake is one of the easiest and one of the most moreish dishes in the world. Baking vanilla is like walking the baby steps in your cake grooming session. It is one of the idiosyncratic flavors in the world which can be combined with anything and everything!
To bake a 5 min Vanilla Cake assemble the following:
- 5 tbsp All purpose flour
- 3 tbsp Icing Sugar or Powdered Sugar
- 2.5 tbsp Unsalted Butter or Vegetable Oil
- 5 tbsp Milk
- 0.5 tsp Baking powder
- 0.5 tsp Vanilla essence
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp of butter + 1 tsp of flour for coating
Mix all the dry ingredients together properly. Sieve it 2 times. This ensures the blend of the particles and guarantees you a good amalgam too. Now take a microwave-safe mug. Usually, glass mugs are microwave safe. If you have butter spray, then spray it in the inner surface of the mug generously. If you don’t have a butter spray, coat the inner surface of the mug with 1 tsp of butter. Sprinkle 1 tsp of flour along the boundary so that it sticks over the butter and the surface of your mug looks like this.
Now mix all the wet ingredients together so they form a liquid based substance. Beat the dry ingredients into the wet one so that they don’t form lumps. Use the cut-and-fold technique to check whether your mixture is perfect or not. The cut-and-fold method is checked by the following steps.
- While mixing, take a tablespoon of the cake batter and drop it into the remaining one from a height
- If the batter falls while making a staircase-like impression then your batter is perfect.
- If not, then there are two possibilities- either your cake is too liquid-y or it is thick.
- If thick, add a tablespoon of milk and check.
- If liquid, add a tablespoon of flour and check.
Make sure, that your batter fills the 2/3rd portion of the entire mug. If the volume of the batter is more, your cake may spill. After that, insert the mug into your oven and bake in the microwave for 2 minutes. Keep adding 30 seconds more till you feel your cake has been completely baked. To check the baking consistency, take a skewer and pierce till the bottom of the cake. If the skewer comes out clean, your cake is ready to be baked. If not, then add 30 seconds more and check. Garnish it with sprinkles and whipped cream. Your cake is ready!
