The wave of Modi-fication has swept off India off her feet. But how much Modi-fiable are you? Can this surge in the popularity of BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) make you viable to future opportunities?
Narendra Modi presumed his presidency in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and cemented his popularity for another 5 years. He reigned his dominion in a preemptively distinguished way which soared the cries of Hindutva all around the country.
His popularity is befitting to all those people who imagined a secular India not only viable to the words but to very much consolidating India into a Hindu majoritarianism country. This surge is accredited to the fact that many Indians think that he is India's, common man.
Whether or not it is true, we do not know. But the story of him being a small poor kid selling teas in an equally small roadside dhaba has afflicted upon his elections too.
This story of his has inspired a lot many people to think, that he is one of us- risen and ruling with us. With his extremely good communication skills and his way of charming people into his oration, he has continuously made progress by breaching through the ranks of all kinds of elitists citadels.
But who are these elites?
These elites are the socialists, communists people who prefer the minority section of India's caste and creed- namely Dalit and Muslim. Modi has brought into light that these elites are the ones who favor the minority section by relieving them off any external media of earning money. That is, buying their silence and forsaking their monetary demands for the juxtaposition of their votes and popularity. Hence contributing to this propaganda, these elites are the ones who propose for a strong center with proper caste hierarchies. They fortify the belief that the ladder to rising up is via merit only.
What has this to do with Modi?
Lo and behold, comes Modi. A common, poor man who lived a common, poor life. But, with immense strength and rigorous tenure of mind and body, he has now achieved a respectable position in life. Doesn't this storyline seem familiar to every common man's household in India? No wonder, people, specially educationalists, critics, and the aristocratic part of our society thinks that Modi is their story. He is their metaphor- their figure of speech. The power of relativity is a very strong thing when it comes to such sensitive issues. And this has favored Modi so much that after enjoying a decade's rule in Gujarat and being the former Prime Minister of India, he is now presiding as the same for the second time.
No wonder, the hardened infrastructures- roads, bridges, metros, a few harmless statues- all of these are highly indebted to Modi. Securing a permanent position in sectors of employment, subsidizing rates, seizing black money from the wrongdoers, attacking the Pakistani frontiers twice in a row, avenging the Jawans' deaths- all of these are very much accountable to Modi himself.
But are we sure we are looking at the big picture? Are we sure we are not staring and gawking at the foundation-dabbed picturesque India that Modi wants us to see? Are we overlooking the fact that there are girls getting raped all over the country, farmers dying of poverty, senior citizens getting exempted from benefits, middlemen stepping into the traps of taxes, and major scammers are roaming free in the world far from the hanging noose they deserve?
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 saw the win of BJP by almost 63.6%. A brief of the entire election is given below.

Modi Surge- A new black era or a new India?
Dubbing the elitists' mentality, Modi has created a new vision for a brand new India. This new India voices for herself and she will be able to get out of the predominant reigns of inherited four-wall bound thinking. Modi is an extraordinary man with a remarkable sense of politics. It is one of his most favorable quality which has won the hearts of 63.6% of people. But are we seeing Indian's new vision of India or Modi's India?
Are we contemplating behind the drapes of truth, hiding behind masks of majoritarianism while ranting for Hindutva? Narendra Modi is an influential man. He, unlike all the other current politicians, takes politics very seriously. This is a great boon for the person who will oath to be the Prime Minister of India in a few hours. But this is one of the most fearsome features of his. This remarkable quality inflicts a major danger to the untouched and pure soul of Indian politics.
Modi, during his reign of Gujarat, has been very successful in keeping the marginalized section, marginalized. Be it political lynches towards the two major and dangerous sects of the community or be it political or electoral violence. Significant riots caused in 2002 may repeat again among the cattle and the beef trading people, in the upcoming years. His nod-nod-wink-wink hints at preferring and uplifting the Hindu community and making it secular to its very literal meaning has indeed played with the emotions of many Hindutva loving people.
His political phenomena are based on an array of many deeply entrenched political groundwork which has led him to be a social movement. Hindutva, with his favors, is proceeding from the former elite groups which are being entertained to every sect of India. You cannot oppose it nor fight against it. It is something you have to undeniably accept.
Neglecting his effect on the secularity of India, he has not yet transformed India's economic face. His so-promised propaganda of bringing in an 8 percent growth rate has not even made its first move. Amongst all his political reforms, it is the agriculture of India- the primary occupation of Indians which is pertaining to shock aftershocks. Starting from demonetization to disintegration in the world's economy and globalization- Indian agriculture is pertaining to a nullifiable amount of growth.
However, with Congress and the BSP(Bahujan Samaj Party) falling face-first into defeat, there is no other opposition party that can hold BJP responsible for its misdeeds. Until a good party, an accountable party comes into power, there is no turning back from the Modi-wave which will strike again in 2023 elections when Modi will gear up for his battlefield after his 10 years tenure at the age of 73.
The deity-fiction of one leader and the personalization of his story etched deep into the hearts of Indians have explicitly posed two dangers- one harassing the democratic values of India and the other posing a threat of the global economy. It is in the coming years which will bring up more threats and more dangers into our society. Will Modi then be able to cover it up with his drastic reforms?
While this dynastic rule and majoritarianism by uplifting Hindu caste the most is a drastic danger, another danger is faced by West Bengal where the reigning power of TMC (Trinamool Congress) has still been able to keep a straight face towards this Modi-wave. Our constitution has etched deep into us the values of tolerating and staying and supporting other peer castes of our country. But Modi has transformed our very roots into contempt for them. His wholehearted support for Hindutva has turned into anguish and rage for other minorities. Muslims and Dalits are sitting at the edge of their seats for the same now. His aim for the cultural domination of Hindutva has forfeited what Indian reformers had set predominantly for a peaceful country.
So, to the Hindutva Section of India, are you favoring Narendra Modi because of his choice of your vision or his vision of your choice? What we hope, is that this new transformed India doesn't descend her soul in the darkest chapter of politics.
