1. Nitin Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari who was initially in charge of the road and the water transports in the early tenure of Modi took an oath of the office at 19:12 IST, yesterday. He was also in charge of Ganga Rejuvenation ministries and highways and river developments. Gadkari, who had stood for the Nagpur elections defeated his opponent Nana Patole, a BJP rebel by almost 2 lakh votes. He is accredited for the free flow of transport and the smooth flow of highways and roads. He was the President of Bharatiya Janta Party from a time period of 2010- 2013. He is now the Minister of Road Transports and Highways and Minister of Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises.

2. Amit Shah

Often called as the right hand of Narendra Modi or the Jay to Modi’s Veeru, Amit Shah got rewarded for the solid 5-year ministry. He took the oath along with Nitin at 19:12 IST. He is currently serving as the President of BJP and as the elected MP for Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He won his 15th seat as Gujarat’s minister by a majority of 69.7% votes, a seat which he has held since 1967. He is now the Minister of Home Affairs.

3. Shri Nirmala Sitharaman

In her last tenure, she was accountable to the entire Defense ministry. Serving as the second woman ( the first being Indira Gandhi ) to become Defense Minister in the country, she swore the oath to the office at 19:16 IST. Having started her career as a salesgirl, she has indeed come a long way in serving her country. She has also served the Ministry of Finance while being in charge of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, independently. She is now the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs.

4. Shri Ram Vilas Paswan

Having served as a key NDA ally in Bihar. In the previous tenure, he was in charge of the Food, Consumer and Public Distributions. He has in his record, almost 10 Lok Sabha victories. Where in, he has been a part of the cabinet ministry, under six leading prime ministers, both in the rule of BJP and Congress coalition. He swore to the office at 19:19 IST. He is now the Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution.

5. Shri Sadananda Gowda

Winning as an MP, by a huge margin of votes, in Bengaluru, he swore to the office at 19:14 IST today. He represents the constituency of North Bengaluru. He was under the charge of Statistical and Programme Implementation in the 16th Lok Sabha and served 5 years successfully being a minister of the same. He is a lawyer by profession. He is now the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers.

6. Shri Narendra Singh Tomar

In Modi’s early tenure, he was made in charge of Union Minister (Cabinet rank) of Steel, Mines, Labour and Employment. He is the leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party in Gwalior. In 2019, by changing his constituency he was re-elected as MP from Morena. He took an oath to office and secrecy at 19:16 IST. He is currently the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; Minister of Rural Development; and Minister of Panchayati Raj.

7. Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad is the Minister of Law and Justice; Minister of Communications; and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology. He swore to the office at 19:26 IST. He was the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and was a former teacher at an RSS affiliated school. He got re-elected into the Lok Sabha by representing BJP.

8. Shri Harsimrat Kaur Badal

This year, Kaur won a ticket to the Lok Sabha by successfully defeating her opponent- Amrinder Singh Raja Warring who represented Congress. She won keeping a huge margin from her opponent. The margin of her win was nearly 22,000 votes. In her previous tenure, she was the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing. She was also a member of Parliament from Bathinda, Punjab. She took her oath to office and secrecy at 19:27 IST. She is now the Minister of Food Processing Industries.

9. Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot

Thawar had gained his popularity by being a prominent Scheduled Caste Leader. In his last constituency, he was in charge of the entire Social Justice and Empowerment in the last tenure of Modi. He swore to the office at 19:29 IST. He is now the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment.

10. Shri S Jaishankar

The former foreign secretary and the US, China ambassador took the oath to office and secrecy at 19:30 IST. He is currently employed in the TATA group. His efforts in playing a pivotal role in the India-US nuclear treaty was very much appreciated. He has also been an Indian ambassador to many European countries. He is now the Minister of External Affairs.

11. Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal

Pokhriyal was the chief minister in Uttarakhand from 2009 to 2011. He has been given his first chance to play a pivotal role in the Central Government. Being a PM from Haridwar, he won the MP elections in 2019 and hence got an easy ticket to the Lok Sabha. He took an oath swearing to the office at 19:32 IST. He is now the Minister of Human Resource Development.

12. Shri Arjun Munda

After fighting a tough fight with Congress leader Kali Charana Munda in Jharkhand, Munda won by a slim margin of only 1500 votes. However, by securing his win, he got a position in the Central Government. He represented BJP from Khunti, Jharkhand. Having been the Chief Minister three times, he swore to the constituency by saying an oath to the office at 19:35 IST. He is now the Minister of Tribal Affairs.

13. Shri Smriti Irani

The actor-turned-politician made her first debut into the Central Government after defeating Congress from Amethi constituency. Her popularity took a huge surge when she defeated Congress President Rahul Gandhi from his own hometown. She joined the BJP in 2003. She was also the Minister of HR and Development but was subjected to many controversies. Later on, she took over as the textile minister of India. She took an oath to the office and secrecy at 19:37 IST. She is now the Minister of Woman and Child Development and Minister of Textiles.

14. Dr. Harsh Vardhan

A doctor-turned-politician, he wore to the office at 19:38 IST today. He represents the health ministry and briefly was in charge of the education ministry in Delhi. Being an ENT he was an active member of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Forest, Environment, Climate Change and Earth Science in the previous government. He currently represents Chandni Chowk in Delhi and has a ticket to being a member of the Central Government. He is now the Minister of Family Welfare and Health, Science and Technology, and Minister of Earth Sciences.

15. Shri Prakash Javaedkar

Prakash swore into the office at 19:40 IST yesterday. He is now the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Minister of Information and Broadcasting. He was first introduced in the council of ministers on May 2014. He was led by Narendra Modi and was actively handling Forest and Climate Change, Information Broadcasting and Minister of State for Environment. He is an MP of Rajya Sabha.

Shri Prakash Javadekar is the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; and Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

16. Shri Piyush Goyal

He is a CA and a banker by profession. He was in the Finance Ministry and had handed quite a lot appraised portfolios for the same. He also was in charge of the Ministry of Railways and coal. He, however, started his ministerial stint by being in charge of the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy. He is currently an MP from Rajya Sabha. He took an oath of the office and secrecy at 19:41 IST. Shri Piyush Goyal is the Minister of Railways; and Minister of Commerce and Industry.

17. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan

A common face in the Government, he is a Rajya Sabha MP. In Modi’s early tenure, he was in charge of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He took an oath to secrecy at 19:45 IST.

18. Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

He took an oath of the council of ministers at 19:47 IST. His position escalated in the earlier Modi tenure. He is a Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand. Earlier he was the Minister of Minority affair, and then, later on, became the Minister of State (MoS) for Parliamentary Affairs. He took an oath to office and secrecy at 19:47 IST. Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is the Minister of Minority Affairs.

19. Shri Prahlad Joshi

He is a newbie and a fresh face in Modi’s second taker. He is a lawmaker and he has won 4 consecutive times in the Dharwad Lok Sabha Constituency. He defeated Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni by a huge margin. Shri Pralhad Joshi is the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Minister of Coal; and Minister of Mines.

20. Shri Mahendra Nath Pandey

He is the head of BJP’s UP unit. In the first tenure of Modi, he served as a Union Minister of State in the HRD ministry. He is from Pakhapur Village of Ghazipur District. He took an oath to the office at 19:54 IST.

Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey is the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

21. Shri Arvind Ganpat Sawant

He was elected twice from South Bombay as a Shiv Sena leader. He won with a slight margin from the Congress Candidate Milind Deora. He has served two terms in Maharashtra Legislative Council and is a spokesperson of Uddhav Thackeray. He swore to office and secrecy at 19:54 IST.

Shri Arvind Ganpat Sawant is the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise.

22. Shri Giriraj Singh

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he defeated his rival Kanhaiya Kumar (hailing from CPI) by a huge margin of 4.2 lakh votes. He also was the Minister of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Resource Development in the initial Modi government. This is his second win, regarding the first one as the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. 23. Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

He swore to the office and secrecy at 19:58 IST. In 2014, Shekhawat has the highest winning margin in Jodhpur, nearly 4.1 Lakhs. This year he defeated Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Ashok Gehlot- the chief minister of Rajasthan. He won with a margin of 2.7 lakhs. He is in the top leaders of the BJP party and contested for the Jodhpur Lok Sabha with a BJP ticket. He was also the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the earlier NaMo government.

24. Shri Santosh Gangwar

Since hailing from Bailey, he has been selected for the Lok Sabha elections. He has been in many ministries under the rule of the NDA government. His ministries over the seven years include finance, parliamentary affairs, labor and employment, science and technology, petroleum and natural gas, heavy industries and public enterprises, textiles and water resources. However, he was also made the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Labour and Employment employment in 2017. He took the oath at 19:57 IST and swore to the office. Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

25. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik

He is an MP from North Goa. In the earlier 2014 tenure, he was made the Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Tourism. He is known for his initiatives and big-budget proposals in the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy also known as AYUSH. He has taken initiatives to open 100 AYUSH hospitals all over India. However, he was subjected to many prejudices due to his bizarre pamphlets. 26. Shri Jitendra Singh

He was the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances, Department of space, Department of Atomic Energy and Pensions. He was elected twice from the Udhampur Seat, once in the 2014 elections and then in the 2019 elections. He swore to take an oath to the council of ministers at 20:05 IST. 27. Shri Kiren Rijiju

He took an oath at 20:05 IST to the council of ministers. He also served as the Minister of State for Home Affairs in the earlier NaMo government. He was elected twice from the Arunachal West Lok Sabha. He is an arts graduate and is a lawyer by profession. He is now in charge of the Ministry of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports; and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

28. Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey

Famous for the slogan “Ghar-Ghar me ho shouchalaya Ka Nirman, Tabhi Hoga Ladli Bitiya Ka Kanyadaan”. He actively participated in the construction of nearly 11,000 toilets in rural villages of Bihar. He is a prominent representative of Bihar bramhin in Bihar. He was elected into the Assembly for 6 consecutive times. He is also known for his developments in health and family welfare. Earlier, he was the Minister of State for Health Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the earlier government. He swore to take an oath to the office at 20:18 IST.

29. Shri Prahlad Patel

He was born on 28 June 1960. He defeated his nearest competitor Pratap Singh with a huge margin of 3.5 Lakhs. He holds 3 degrees, namely BSc, LLB, and MA in Philosophy. Earlier he was in Committee on Public Undertakings, Committee on Government Assurances Member, Standing Committee on Rural Development. He was also a member of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He took an oath on 20:19 IST. He is now the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Culture; and Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Tourism.

30. Shri Mansukh Manhdaviya

He took an oath to the office at 20:25 IST. He represents BJP as an MP in the Rajya Sabha. He stays in the Bhavnagar district in Gujarat. He was earlier appointed as Minister of State in Road Transport, Highways, and Shipping in 2016. He was earlier in the Legislative Assembly from 2002-2007.

31. Retd. General VK Singh

General Vijay Kumar is the first serving Indian military chief of staff to be in the Parliament. He was a four-star general and served relentlessly in the Indian Army. He served as the 24th Chief while in the army, from his retired tenure of 2010 to 2012. In his early tenure at the house of order, he serves as the Minister of State for Development of the North-Eastern Region. He also had an additional charge of handling the Ministry of State for External Affairs. He took an oath to the office at 20:27 IST. He is now in charge of the Ministry of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

32. Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar

The former Minister of Transport of Haryana and the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in the first Narendra Modi government, Gurjar has come a long way to be a part of the Central Government. In the 2019 elections, he won a constituency of 69% and secured his win for the second time. He took oath at 20:28 pm and swore to the office.

33. Shri Gangapuram Kishan Reddy

A three-time MLA, Reddy won two consecutive wins from the Assembly seat of Amberpet. Reddy was also the leader of the Telangana unit’s BJP team. In the Assembly elections, he lost his seat to Kaleru Venkatesh. But by a remarkable trust of his team in him, they decide to contest him for Secunderabad vote in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Sadhvi was earlier caught in hopscotch when during her rally, she made the statement to vote for the “sons of Ram” and not the “illegitimate children”. She, later on, apologized for this statement and said it was said at the heat of the moment and that she didn’t mean it. However, her opponents asked her to be immediately removed. A police complaint was also filed against her. She was handling the charge of the Ministry of State of Food Processing Industries. She took an oath to the office and secrecy at 20:32 IST.

He is a prominent leader of the Dalit community. He also was the junior Incharge of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. He has also contested and successfully won for the Lok Sabha MP of Pandharpur. He is currently the leader of the party- the Republic Party of India. In September of 2017, he also formed a child party of RPI(A) and appointed his 12-year-old son to be the leader of it. He swore to the office at 20:23 IST.

Shri Ramdas Athawale is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The singer-turned-politician made people of Kolkata frenzy after his playback singing. As a result, during the Asansol Lok Sabha Constituency, he secured two continuous wins. After entering the Asansol elections, while representing BJP, he immediately became immense popularity and won a seat, a feat which only two BJP candidates have performed till now. In the earlier Lok Sabha, he was responsible for the Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture. He was also the Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. He took an oath to the office at 20:35 IST.

Shri Babul Supriyo is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Sanjeev Kumar won the 2019 elections with a very slim margin from Rashtriya Lok Dal chief- Ajit Singh. However, in the earlier elections of 2014, he had defeated Kadir Rana of Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of almost 4 lakh votes. On 11th April last year, he was also accused of faking constituency poles as the “burka-clad” section of the population wasn’t rightly checked and matched with their IDs. He was one of those ministers who were arrested with non-bailable warrants in the Muzzafarbad court.

He swore to the council at 20:36 IST.

Shri Sanjeev Kumar Balyan is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.

He is among the very few leaders who lost this year’s elections despite the entire Modi surge. His loss is accredited to the fact that there were many internal disputes within the team of Punjab BJP. He lost his Amritsar parliamentary to Congress’s leader- Gurjeet Singh. Singh won with a margin of almost 1 lakh votes. Hardeep has completed his MA in 1973, by graduating with History Honors. He was the President of a number of reputed councils-namely the United Nations Security Council and chairman of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee in 2011-2012. He swore to the office at 20:37 IST.

Danve played an active role during his tenure as Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He was actively participating in the position, till he resigned in March 2015. He also won the Jalna constituency for 4 consecutive years. He swore to the office at 20:41 IST.

He is also on the Standing Committees on Agriculture which was under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He is an Arts Graduate and graduated from Raj Narayan College of Bihar. He is now the president of BJP in Bihar. He took his oath to the office at 20:46 IST.

Shri Nityanand Rai is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This year, he defeated his opposition Advocate Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar ( VBA- Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi ) with almost a margin of 2.8 lakh votes. He is an intellectual and has many accolades to his name. Professionally, he is an engineer, an agriculturist, and businessman. In the last five years, he has been appointed to many cabinet ministries, namely- Standing Committee of Business Advisory, Agriculture and Rural Development. He took his oath at 20:48 IST. Shri Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development; Minister of State in the Ministry of Communications; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

He has been a member of the committee of other backward classes. He was re-elected as a BJP leader from Assam constituency of Dibrugarh. He was also a member of Human Resources in 2016. He also worked under the Ministry of Urban developments, serving as a standing member of the Consultative Committee for Housing and Urban Property Alleviation. He has sworn an oath to be the minister in the New Union Cabinet at 20:54 IST.

Shri Rameshwar Teli is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

43. Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi

This thinly built MP from Orissa is famous for riding bicycles all around the villages. He is a first-time contestant in BJP but has already been spreading wildfires owing to his simplicity and tremendous orating skills in Odia and Sanskrit. Before entering into Lok Sabha, he was stood as an independent candidate from Balasore. However, he lost by almost 1.5 lakh votes in 2016. His efforts and orations came out fruitful in 2019 as he swore as Minister of State at 21:01 IST. He is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; and Ministery of State in the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.

44. Shri Anurag Thakur

Son of Prem Kumar Dhumal he is the youngest candidate to be a part of the Central Parliament. He was elected in the 2008 election of the Lok Sabha by-poll, and by representing BJP. He is also a member of the Himachal Pradesh’s 16th Lok Sabha in Hamirpur. His position escalated from BCCI to the Union Cabinet.

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

45. Shri Raj Nath Singh

Shri Raj Nath Singh is the Minister of Defence. He took an oath to the office at 19:20 IST. He was a Cabinet Minister in the Vajpayee Government. And in his previous tenure, he served as the Home Minister in the first half of Modi’s innings. He was also the president of BJP twice. He started his career as a physics lecturer.

Angadi Suresh Channabasappa is the Minister of State in The Ministry of Railways.

Having completed each of the oaths by each individual minister, Narendra Modi gave a nod to finish the program, hence declaring 25 Cabinet Ministers, 24 Ministers of State to be sworn in to the council and 9 State Ministers ( independently ), who will all be lead by Narendra Modi, the second Prime Minister of India.
