On Saturday, i.e. 19th October 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the celebs of Bollywood at his residence in Delhi and discussed initiatives to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Narendra Modi has always been famous for his unique approaches. On Saturday, he showed yet another step of nation-building. The Prime Minister invited the Bollywood stars on his residence and discussed with them the plans to spread the idea of Gandhiji. This was done in regard to the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The prime minister insisted that the filmmakers and the actors should make films that propagate the ideology and thinking of Mahatma Gandhi. Narendra Midi realizes the importance of the film industry in spreading ideology and he also appreciates the contribution they can make towards the same.

The event was attended by many Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Kahn, Amir Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Nigam, Kangana Ranaut, Raj Kumar Hirani, Sonam Kapoor, Anand L Rai, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Ekta Kapoor, etc. Besides these, certain TV stars like the actors of Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma were also there.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister mentioned that the film stars have come up with lot of suggestions. Narendra Modi said, “I am happy to share that we have addressed them to ensure more people can see the brilliant work done by our film personalities,” The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi assured the film fraternity of all the support from his government for the overall development of the entertainment industry.

Motivating and encouraging the people to take up a step in the direction of spreading the message of Gandhi Ji, Narendra Modi said, “The power of creativity is immense and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation. Several people from the world of films and television have been doing great work when it comes to popularising the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi,”

He also added, “Gandhi is synonymous with simplicity. His thoughts reverberate far and wide,” the prime minister said. Highlighting the impact of Mahatma Gandhi in the present day, PM said that “if there is one thought, one person, who can establish a connect with people all over the world, it is Gandhiji”.

Reminding the film industry of their immense potential of bringing up positive transformations in society, PM Mod said, “You all do great work but perhaps you do not know about its global influence! Your work has reached all corners of the world. On the part of the government, I am happy to help in any way to ensure the maximum impact of your creative initiatives.”

This effort by the Prime Minister was greatly appreciated by all the personalities who attended the session. The celebrities uploaded various videos and tweets appreciating this.

Also, the PMO posted various posts on twitter which contained short videos of various celebrities in which they expressed their views about the matter.

About the meeting, The superstar Amir Khan said, “First and foremost, I want to appreciate PM for thinking about this effort [further popularising the ideals of Bapu]. As creative people, there is much we can do. And, I assure the PM that we will do even more,”

The Badshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan said, “I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi for bringing us all together, that too for a cause such as this [Mahatma Gandhi]. I feel we need to re-introduce Gandhi Ji to India and the world.”

The social media of the celebrities was filled with praises of this meet. Even the ones who were not present at the meeting have uploaded posts acknowledging the idea and remarking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
