This Sunday, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javedkar made an announcement about the International Film festival of India. It is worth mentioning that 2019 is the Golden Jubilee year of the International Film Festival of India.

The dates of the 50th International Film Festival of India are from 20th November to 28th November 2019. This festival will be held in Goa. Over 200 films from 76 different countries will be showed at the festival. Also, 26 feature films and 15 non-feature films of the Indian Panorama section will also be there.
As this is the golden Jubilee of the International Film Festival of India, 12 films that will complete 50 years in 2019 will be shown in the festival.
Another important point of the announcement by the minister is that the dada Saheb Falke awardee, Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured at the IFFI. To honour him, a list of his movies will be shown at the Internationsla film Festival of India.
Apart from these, a package of films that are considered as marvelous pieces of arts from all across the world will be aired in the festival. This includes Gully Boy, Uri, The surgical Strike, Super 30 and Badhaai Ho.
Abhishek Shah’s Gujarati film Hellaro will be the opening film of the feature films in Indian Pnorama. This film has been decided by the jury headed by acclaimed film maker and screen writer Priyadarshan. Hellaro has recently won the National Film award for best feature film at the 66th national Film awards.
The opening film in the non feature film category of Indian panorama will be Ashish Pandey’s Nooreh. The head of the non-feature film jury will be Rajendra Junglay who is a well famous documentary film maker.
The International Film festival of India is going to host a number of film stars and about 10,000 film lovers in Goa.
A unique thing about the 50th edition of IFFI is that for the very first time, there will be audio description of the films for the visually impaired.
IFFI is a much awaited event of the country and its 50th rendition is expected to be a hit.
