The famous director and producer Priyadarshan received the Kishore Kumar Award by the Madhya Pradesh government on 13th October 2019 at Khandwa.
Priyadarshan is known well in the film industry for his work ion the Bollywood and Malayalam film industries.
The Madhya Pradesh government gives the National Kishore Kumar Award every year on the name of the legendary singer, Kishore Kumar. This award includes a cash prize worth of Rs. 2 lakhs and a citation. Kishore Kumar died in 1987. In his name, the Madhya Pradesh government started this award in the year 1997. This award for the year 2018-2019 was given to Priyadarshan by the MP government in a ceremony held on 13th October 2019 at Khandwa. It is worth mentioning that Khandwa is the birthplace of Kishore Kumar.
On receiving the award, Pridarshan expressed his gratitude and happiness and also his regret that he could not meet the legendary singer. He said to the media: “I always wish I could meet him once. This honor is encouraging as I received it at Kishoreda’s birthplace.”
Priyadarshan has done remarkable work in the film industry. He has done more than 95 films in various Indian languages out of which 26 were in Hindi.
