The year 2020 is going to be the 92nd year of Oscars. The Oscars 2020 is scheduled for 9th February 2020 which is a Sunday. The 92nd Oscars will be conducted at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Centre in Hollywood.

With regard to this, a total of 93 countries throughout the world have sent their entries for competition at the Oscars. This is the highest in the history of Oscars. These entries have been for the category of the Best International Feature Film. Earlier, the highest number of entries was sent in 2017 which was 92 entries.

The Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts announced the list of the 93 entries on 8th October, 2019.

The various countries that have sent their entries to compete for the title of the Best International Feature Film have got a new addition of Nigeria, Ghana and Uzbekistan. It is the first time that these countries have sent their entries to participate in the Oscars

Among the 93 entries, there are ‘Parasite’ from South Korea, ‘Pain and Glory’ from Spain, ‘Weathering with You’ which is an animated film from Japan, and ‘Les Misérables’ from France. India has sent its ‘Gully Boy’ to compete for the title.

Out of the 93 entries, only 10 will be short listed to go for the further consideration. Last year only 9 films were shortlisted. The 10 shortlisted films will be announced on 16th December 2019. Also, the final nominee running for the best international feature film will be announced on 13th January, 2019.
